A Home for Mars

What I learned today. It is not wise to engage in conversation with the tall dark one whilst waving around a hunk of ground beef in front of a hungry Bengal. It is kind of like waving an antelope in front of a hungry tiger. Even though denim might not resemble a tree trunk it does serve as a means for a hungry Bengal to get to said beef.

Actually he didn't climb. He just let me know.. hey I am here, that is food, helloooo??? I am HUNGRY!.

Mars needs a home of his own. We love having him but he and Sakura are starting to get attached and we are praying that when he does find his home it does not signal the start of her issues that caused her to come into rescue in the first place. You can see Mars on Great Lakes Bengal Rescue at http://www.greatlakesbengalrescue.com/. All you have to do is go through the application process.

Mars is a really handsome cat. He is almost 12lbs, tall, long and rangy, a lovely big framed cat with a handsome face. His coat is black and kind of that reddish brown so I guess that is how he got his name. He is only 3 years old and was turned in to a shelter in Chicago because he did not get on with an older cat. He gets on beautifully with Sakura, they are good buddies and he is not one bit afraid of the dogs.

Mars is a very 'interested' boy. He loves to open room and closet doors and explore but he hasn't done any damage, he is just interested in what is there and does not like a door shut against him (typical Bengal). He is a counter surfer but I am teaching him 'Down' and perhaps with patience he won't. He tends to do it more when he is hungry - gee - I wonder why? Mars likes to play but he is not a lap cat and doesn't like being picked up, he is quite independent but I feel he would bond with his owner in his furrever home. He digs to China in his litterbox and he happily uses his box, Sakura's, her food etc. But they happily share and if she wants his bed she will chase him off it. However, I heard tell they were curled up together in his bed earlier today.. shock!!!!

If you think you could give Mars the right home please look him up at the website. He is a handsome and sweet puddy tat.
